Aruba has the highest standard of living in the West Indies and has become one of the most popular vacation spots in the Caribbean. The most famous pastime is windsurfing thanks to the consistent 20-knot trade winds. Equipment rentals and instructors are available, so give it a try! Less than a mile offshore, the sea abounds with sailfish, wahoo, yellow and black tuna and marlin. Sport-fishing trips are widely available. The German freighter Antilia, scuttled at the start of WWII off the northwest coast, is a favorite destination of scuba divers. Shallow, gentle waters at Druif and Arashi Beaches where you can see a reef of elkhorn on the sandy bottom are a big draw for snorkelers. Or you may like a cruise on a glass bottom boat or catamaran which combines a picnic with sightseeing.

Be sure to explore Aruba by land, too. The countryside is dotted with windswept divi-divi trees, cactus and pastel-colored houses. Bubali Pond on the west coast is a bird sanctuary which attracts a great variety of birds - pelicans, cormorants, wood storks, and long-legged egrets among them. You can go horseback riding on highly trained paso fino horses from South America. Golf lovers can play the Aruba Golf Club near San Nicolas and the new Tierra del Sol course in Arashi in the northwest tip of the island, Aruba's first world-class golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II. Aruba has over six Vegas-style casinos for nighttime entertainment as well as superb restaurants, shows and shopping with many bargains to be had on European porcelain, jewelry, perfumes, and clothing.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This course is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and all other medical care providers who must maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of the critical care specialty or are impacted by it.

PROGRAM PURPOSE

This continuing education program is designed for healthcare professionals working in critical care settings. The program aims to provide attendees with the latest updates and advancements in critical care, enhancing their clinical skills and knowledge to optimize patient outcomes. OBJECTIVES

Bolster knowledge, competence, and utilization of the most recent evidence-based critical care clinical practice guidelines.

Expand competence in the management of patients with complex comorbidities and less common medical conditions, thereby improving patient outcomes and safety.

Improve skills/strategies in managing mechanical ventilation for patients with complex respiratory conditions.

Increase knowledge and competence in effectively interpreting and applying hemodynamic monitoring data to guide patient care.

Enhance ability to analyze complex situations from an ethical and legal perspective, protecting both patients and healthcare providers.

Refine and strengthen competence in the prevention and management of common complications in critically ill patients.

Strengthen and augment ability to apply and interpret diagnostic testing/imaging used in critical care.

Augment recognition and coping strategies to mitigate the effects of workplace stressors and burnout and achieve wellbeing in the clinical setting.

Factors beyond our control sometimes necessitate changes in the schedule and faculty. If time permits, we will inform all registrants of any changes prior to the program. Changes on site due to local conditions will be announced in class.

COURSE CANCELLATION BY PROVIDER

We reserve the right to cancel a course for any reason. In such case, a minimum of days notice will be given to those registered and 100% of tuition paid will be refunded. NWAS/NWS and NWWT will not be responsible for any non-refundable airfare, hotel, or other liabilities you may incur. We highly recommend purchase of travel insurance. Travel at your own risk.

COURSE CANCELLATION POLICY

No penalty if canceled by April 9, 2025. Cancellations between April 10, 2025, and May 10, 2025, incur a $100 fee. Cancellations after May 10, 2025, are not eligible for a refund. However, 50% of the tuition paid can be applied toward tuition for another NWS/NWAS program within the next 12 months. Cancellation must be made in writing. No tuition credit or refund will be issued for attendees that are no-shows for the program.
